(MT Newswires) -- Fisheries Supply said Tuesday its partnership with Constructor has streamlined its product discovery, giving its revenue per user a boost.

The distributor of marine products in the Pacific Northwest said it's logged a 15% increase in revenue per user following improvement in its product search on its e-commerce site. Fisheries Supply said it teamed up with artificial intelligence-based Constructor to make online supply search easier for customers by tapping Constructor's natural language processing and clickstream behavioral data. No financial terms related to the partnership itself were disclosed.

"The 15% increase in revenue per user is directly attributable to Constructor's technology," Constructor told MT Newswires in an emailed response. "With the product search and discovery solution from Constructor, buyers have been able to find more products they need on fisheriessupply.com, leading to higher revenue for Fisheries Supply."

Fisheries Supply said Constructor's technology helped with its need for manual coding and creating synonyms for search terms to accommodate marine-industry jargon such as "donut" for life ring. The company, which serves wholesale and retail clients that include boat yards and commercial fishermen, said its partnership has resulted in an 8.5% increase in conversions per user and a 6.5% increase in sessions per user.

In keeping up with the ever-changing technology landscape, which includes the emergence of artificial intelligence and machine learning, Fisheries Supply Vice President of Technologies Kyle Sutter told MT Newswires that the company listens to its customers, understands their pain points, and utilizes the correct technology to develop solutions. "We see AI and machine learning as another tool in our technical toolbox, so to speak. Understanding when it's appropriate to use each tool is key to delivering functionality that will continue to delight our customers," Sutter said.

Constructor Chief Marketing Officer Courtney Austermehle said in a statement, "forward-looking businesses like Fisheries Supply are tapping AI to drive measurable improvements to the customer experience."
